I took a quite long trip this week. I went to Indiana to see my parents and then headed over to Las Vegas for two conferences. It was really nice to hang out with my parents and visit both South Bend, IN and Ann Arbor, MI with them. After working from their kitchen for two days, I headed over to Vegas for Black Hat and DefCon 19. I learned a great deal during these conferences and got to see some of my old colleagues.

Given that we did not have much time before school starts, my friends and I went up to Helen, GA for the weekend. There we drove through the mountains, ate delicious vegan (and non-vegan) food, and went tubing in the Chattahoochee River.

After spending Xmas in Tallahassee, FL, New Years in Asheville, NC, it was only obvious we should swing by Miami, FL for some nice weather. It was beautiful out there, however, when we flew back to Atlanta a snowmageddon started.

For New Years, we went up to Asheville, NC. We enjoyed, the snow, the delicious restaurants, and the company of our friends.

Some of my friends decided to get Jeeps so that they can master steep hills and connect to their inner hillbilly. I however, opted out of the experience of owning one and just enjoying the mountains, rocks, and a swollen foot thanks to the earlier enjoyments.
