Monica and I wanted to have a destination wedding, so we found ourselves exploring Zagreb during a holiday weekend. Our original hope was to get legally married in Croatia, but due to a miscommunication, we could not get the required paperwork as the offices were closed, and our tickets were purchased. Therefore we settled on the civil ceremony in Decatur, and then a formal wedding ceremony in Dubrovnik, Croatia. As we already made plans to stay in Zagreb, we made the best of it and explored the empty streets, and lonely sights. However, it was nice, that both Monica’s side of the family, as well was mine were in town, and we were able to do some of the sightseeing together.
